The Best Colors To Paint Your Commercial Property In 2023

Why do color trends matter?

Keeping up with color trends can help your commercial properties feel fresh, modern, and more aesthetically pleasing, ultimately increasing their appeal.

Design and color trends typically reflect what is going on in the world. We can really see that after these past 2 years as color trends have shifted towards more neutral, calming palettes that can promote a sense of peace, security, and familiarity.

Based on the Sherwin-Williams Commercial Colormix® Forecast for this year, office spaces are leaning more towards less formal designs to create friendlier, more comfortable atmospheres for returning employees.

There continues to be an emphasis on bringing the outdoors indoors. At the same time, we’re seeing a bit of boldness and a surge of creativity with edgier, redder shades. The best example of this is Pantone’s color of the year Viva Magenta. A striking pink characterized by its vibrancy, this shade draws inspiration from nature and really feels like the start of something new.

As a commercial painting services company, we keep our eyes (and brushes) on the trends every year. These are some of the color trends we expect to see in 2023.

Colors To Paint Your Commercial Property In 2023

Similar to 2022, this year’s trending colors continue to be inspired by nature. We’re seeing colors that are grounding and calming combined with colors that inspire exploration and creativity.

Neutrals are still in the spotlight. But, this year we’ll see richer tones and hues of those timeless colors. Among them are warm brown hues, reds and yellows, deep greens, and neutrals with warmer undertones. We’ll also see more adventurous combinations such as warm and cool tones paired together, neutrals alongside vibrant colors, and earthy, soft tones complemented by pops of rich accents.

When selecting a color palette, consider these colors of the year from leading paint brands:

Sherwin Williams: Redend Point

A rosy beige that works beautifully as an accent color when paired with cooler shades like light gray. It’s also an excellent choice as a warm neutral in all kinds of spaces.

Benjamin Moore: Raspberry Blush

A bright coral shade with pink undertones, this is a stunning shade that can really make a statement. Use it as an accent color or, for a bolder look, paint an entire room in this lively hue.

Behr: Blank Canvas

An off-white with complex undertones of brown and gray, this color is the neutral reset we all need in 2023. Blank Canvas is inspired by the growing wellness movement, designed to evoke feelings of welcoming and relaxation.
